Where our answers come from
Every range chart and grade in Grindly reads directly from solutions computed by HoldemResources Calculator.
Solve settings
- Monte Carlo engine. All 169 preflop hands are solved individually, with postflop play factored in
- Antes, no rake (big blind ante for ICM and heads-up, regular antes for ChipEV)
- Raise sizing starts at 2.0bb opens, 3.0bb from the SB, and 3bets of 2.5x in position and 3.3x out of position, adjusted for stack depth
Checks before import
A solver's accuracy depends on how much computation it is given. Every spot is measured for deviation from equilibrium before import, and solutions above the threshold are not in the app.
FAQ
Why do answers differ from other GTO tools?
Different assumptions. With different raise sizes or ante formats, two correct solutions still disagree. When comparing, check against the settings listed above first.
Why do some spots show unnatural-looking ranges?
Lines that are rarely reached at equilibrium (after several low-frequency actions in a row, for example) receive little of the solver's computation, so the range there can be unstable. The import checks weight each spot by how often it is actually reached.
